Established in 1990 and located in the spectacular landscape of northern British Columbia, UNBC was created thanks to an outpouring of public support for a university in the North, for the North. That commitment continues to this day through community-inspired research, hands-on learning, and UNBC alumni who are leading change in our region and around the world.
Since UNBC opened its doors, donor support has ensured that our students receive an education and university experience that will serve their futures and benefit our communities.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNBC students have had to deal with quickly adapting to virtual learning, relocating and dealing with the loss of much-needed jobs. Our focus has been to provide them with the educational, wellness, and financial supports they need in this new reality.
You can help ease student hardships.
During the month of June, CanadaHelps is running the Great Canadian Giving Challenge. For every dollar* you donate through this Challenge, UNBC is entered for a chance to win an additional $20,000!?
These gifts, including the $20,000 if we win, will support UNBC's Emergency Student Relief Funds, helping students currently experiencing hardship due to COVID-19.
Your generosity will help students affected by the pandemic to continue earning their degree and pursuing their dreams. Thank you for your support.
We are stronger together!
*Contest Terms: Donations must be made via givingchallenge.ca or canadahelps.org. Minimum $3 donation required. Contest runs from June 1, 2020 at midnight Newfoundland Daylight Time (NDT) to June 30, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
